The AW20 Adjustable Weights from Valeo can be used on either the ankles or wrists to add resistance to a wide variety of exercises or regular daily activities. Each weight is adjustable in two pound increments, from 2 to 10 pounds.
These weights are commonly used for walking, stair-stepping, aerobics and floor exercises. They are also appropriate for rehab and physical therapy.
If you've never used ankle weights before, ten pounds on each side may not sound like much, but when used for an extended period they definitely help tone and increase leg and/or arm strength. You can opt for a lower level of resistance by removing some of the weight packets.
This model uses weighted sand packets rather than the iron bars used by many ankle/wrist weight systems. This can improve comfort but may add a bulky and cumbersome feel, especially if worn on the wrists. These weights are more appropriate for larger body types and may feel awkward on smaller users.
The weight sleeves use a velcro self-gripping closure system making it easy to add or remove weights and have adjustable metal D-ring double-strap enclosures for secure placement on the ankles or wrists.
