The Ironmaster Quick Lock Adjustable Dumbbells are 100% metal providing a more gym quality look and feel than other popular adjustable dumbbells. These dumbbells are very safe, do not rattle when in use and are built to take a beating. They’re as strong and solid as most dumbbells in commercial gyms. The one inch holes in each plate allow the use of a standard weight bar to transform them into barbells.
The one drawback is that weight adjustment is done manually rather than with a turn of a dial (Bowflex) or pull of a pin (PowerBlocks). Although this undoubtedly increases the time needed to adjust weight between sets, Ironmaster claims it can be done within fifteen seconds using the unique quick lock mechanism.
