Marcy Diamond Elite Smith System | Safe, Olympic Weight Home Gym with Linear Bearings
Smith Systems provide all the benefits of free weights without the need for a spotter. They allow you to perform a huge variety of strength exercises at home in a safe, self-spotting power cage.
The Marcy Diamond Elite Smith System includes a quality multi-purpose bench with preacher curl and leg developer. It features ultra smooth linear bearings that substantially increase the quality of this gym.
The heavy duty steel frame includes a 7-degree slant that accommodates efficient and natural upper and lower body exercises.
This is an excellent free weight system for the price but there are two important points to keep in mind before purchasing.
First, unlike most of the equipment reviewed here, the build time is very involved — plan to devote 5-10 hours to fully assemble the gym.
Second, you’ll need to buy the weights separately, or use your existing plates. The system uses either regular 1″ weight plates or 2″ Olympic weight plates.
