Most of us overestimate how hard we work out, spend a lot of time at the gym, and then get frustrated at the lack of results. With this gadget you can make your workouts effective, not just time and energy consuming.
The features on the Polar F6 are numerous enough to make this a great toy, and few enough as not to make it too complicated. This is not a model for the serious “data junkie” who wants to store all of their workout data in a spreadsheet. This is a model for someone who wants to know how many calories they’ve burned, time in their target workout zone, BMI, % of maximum heart rate being reached, and heart rate.
Polar F6 heart rate monitor Product Details
- Zone Pointer: A visible and audible feature on the display of your heart rate monitor showing your target heart rate zone and where your current heart rate is within that zone.
- Polar OwnCal: This feature shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. You can set daily and weekly exercise goals in terms of calorie expenditure with the OwnCal feature. Because the OwnCal tracks both the energy expenditure during one exercise session and the accumulated kilocalories during a longer time (e.g. one week), it helps in achieving both short-term and long-term goals.
- Polar OwnZone: This feature guides you through an appropriate warm-up routine and automatically determines a safe and effective exercise heart rate zone–your OwnZone–while taking into account your current physical condition.
- Polar OwnCode: This technology blocks unwanted signals from other heart rate monitors, ensuring disturbance-free transmission of your heart rate data.

The Polar F6 is indeed an excellent monitor, especially for those who aren’t all that tech savvy. It’s extremely easy to use and, rather stylish I must say. I especially love the “OwnZone” feature, and the ability to shut out errant signals from other heart monitors (something you’ll likely run into in a crowded gym, which I’ve experienced numerous times). Though the Reebok monitors are a little less expensive, I’ve always been a proponent of “you get what you pay for”, and the Polar series of monitor (the F6 is just one model in a top-notch line) definately doesn’t disappoint.
