This sleek and relatively compact model employs a heavy duty flywheel-resistance and belt-drive train to operates quietly and smoothly.

The Magic Circle will add variety to your resistance training as an alternative to using weights or a strength training machine. It’s durable and somewhat rigid, but includes soft, high-quality foam molded handles for comfort and added functionality.

The Magic Circle can be used for hundreds of exercises and is particularly suited for strengthening inner and outer thighs, upper arms, chest and core muscles.

The included DVD appears to be dated but does provide varied, easy to follow instructional routines to help get the most out of this product.

While the Magic Circle addresses strength, posture and flexibility, it doesn’t provide much of a cardio workout. For optimal results it should be used in addition to a regular exercise regime.

The foot-pedal only design of the Stamina 55-1610 has distinct disadvantages when compared to traditional elliptical trainers. The stride length is relatively small and there is no upper body involvement. Incorporating light weight dumbbells is a good option when using this type of elliptical.

That said, this machine is well constructed and does provide an adequate low-impact cardio workout at a very low price. Customer reviews are actually above average for those who know what to expect and are looking for a device to meet specific needs.

The compact size is obviously an advantage in cramped living spaces or offices. Elliptical training by definition is easy on the knees and good for getting the heart pumping. This elliptical allows you to work up a sweat surprisingly fast. Resistance can be set from easy to heavy very quickly and efficiently.

Other advantages over larger trainers include lower shipping costs, easy assembly and portability. And small ellipticals are definitely a better option than compact steppers of about the same size.

Despite limitations this product does what it’s meant to do and for less than $100 deserves consideration.
